What is Devon Women In Business?

Devon Women In Business (DWIB) has transformed itself since 2021 when Louise Jenner took over the Facebook group and restarted the monthly networking lunches. The group now has over a thousand followers across social media. Its ethos is to support professional women working across the county in all sectors to celebrate their achievements.

Louise has now been joined by Maureen Frost from Astrality Business Services and together they plan to grow the organisation as a one-stop shop for all Devon Women in Business.

Louise says, “You can find DWIB on all your favourite platforms so there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved.”

Supporting Devon Women In Business

The supportive side of DWIB is all about networking but don’t worry, it’s not the kind of networking you might have experienced before! This is friendly and informal and with the notable exception of the annual DWIB Awards Dinner, all our events are women-only. We’re not here to sell at each other or compare egos; we’re here to build relationships and have conversations.

We believe in the power of collaboration and we love celebrating success.

We plan to expand the kinds of events we run in 2023. For now, we meet at least once a month in person and we have online networking on the second Thursday of each month too.

Celebrating Devon Women In Business – The DWIB Awards

Louise and Maureen also organise the annual Devon Women In Business Awards and the DWIB Awards 2022 took place on 26th November, recognising the achievements of female business owners and employees across Devon.

Our regular judges are Louise Jenner, The Dream Job Coach, Maureen Frost from Astrality Business Services and Emma Woodward of Dawes Accountants. Each category sponsor is also invited to be a Guest Judge for their category.

Awards Night 2022

After the judging, there were finalists in 8 categories from all over Devon. On the 26th of November 2022, the winners were revealed at a glittering ceremony at the Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre.

All 2022 finalists and winners are listed under their respective categories on the Awards Categories page.

The room was decorated by Wendy and the team from Decorations and Celebrations and looked magical.

Guests were entertained by Meghan Rae Music and danced the night away.

Over £500 was raised during our Charity Prize Draw in aid of Children’s Hospice South West and Trevi.
