DESCRIPTION:DWIB Networking at Moor Trees\nJoin us for relaxed\, women-only networking with refreshments at Dartington Tree Nursery\, run by the charity\, Moor Trees. Go behind the scenes\, meet the passionate team and get your hands dirty with a fun tree-related activity. \nLearn how YOU can make a difference and discover how planting trees with Moor Trees combats climate change\, creates habitats and increases biodiversity on Dartmoor. \nAbout Moor Trees\nMoor Trees is an independent charity dedicated to restoring native woodland on Dartmoor and in South Devon. They aim to improve the environment and connect people with their forest heritage. \n“We have a new vision for Dartmoor\, one that looks wilder\, with woodlands that form part of a mosaic of restored natural habitats\, offering significant benefits in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss; woodlands that coexist with farming\, archaeology and recreation\, connecting people to nature and to their heritage. \nThe way people look at England’s upland areas is changing. There is a growing realisation that many areas of the UK\, including Dartmoor\, would naturally be more wooded. Restoring native woodland can bring multiple environmental benefits\, as trees (and their soils) help to retain water and reduce flooding\, as well as sequestering carbon. It would also allow many species of animals and plants currently confined to remnant fragments of woodland to flourish. From here take the small road up the hill through the houses and at the top of the hill cross over a mini-roundabout onto Barracks Hill. \nOn your right are bungalows and a row of garden sheds. Further down on the right\, the site gate is set in a high hedge just before houses on the left. \nYou can park by this gate and enter the site. \nTurn right and walk along the back of the hedge to find our nursery site. \nThe closest postcode is Barracks Hill TQ9 6DQ \nParking\nLimited parking is available on the nursery site and additional spaces on the road opposite the entrance. If you would like to car share then please let us know when booking. \nTickets\nTickets £20pp with Silver/Gold/Platinum member discounts available. 50% of your ticket price is donated to the Moor Trees charity. \nAs this event falls during the school holidays\, children aged 11-16 are welcome free of charge.
